| This image is of the wiring box on an Flexmax FM60 charge controller, The wiring is fairly simple, and sorry about the fuzzy picture. Notice there are 5 large wire/cables, the red tape is marking the DC voltage hot or positive wire, the white tape marks the DC voltage negative ground wire. The cable is marked with white to show the negative voltage is ground bonded. Plain black would tell you it is an ungrounded negative cable. |
| The smaller green wire is the RTS (remote temp sensor) for the battery bank. To the right of the RTS cable you will see a silver ground block, the equipment ground. The wire is behind the ground block and can not be seen in this picture. Wiring the charge controller from left to right: 1. The first red marked cable is the positive from the solar array. 2. The first white marked cable is the negative cable from the solar array. 3. The second white marked cable is the negative cable going to the battery bank. 4. The second red marked cable is the positive going to the battery bank. 5. The green cable is the RTS. The breaker for the solar array is on the left side of the charge controller and the breaker for the output to the battery bank is on the right. Both boxes are connected to the charge controller using a conduit nipple found at most any hardware store. |
