A solar electric system designed for other states or
locations may not work for you in Arkansas. The Northwest
Arkansas corner of the state has an average high temp of
86 deg F and a recorded low of -13 deg. F. If you buy a
system designed for the east coast, west coast or far south
where the low temp is 60 deg or above, the solar modules
will be incorrectly sized for the inverters input voltage for
winter time use in any part of Arkansas.
In the cold of winter a solar module will output at a higher
power level. Along with the double sun effect of the sun

hitting the edge of a cloud and snow on the ground with bright sun reflecting on the panels.
Could easy increase the power rating over the Inverter limits and could damage the inverter
and void your warranty.
In turn if the system was designed for the northern part of the United States or Canada. A
solar array may not put out enough power to start an Inverter in the Arkansas summer heat.
Would be a shame to have a system that would only work in the winter time.
The proper way to size your system is
to contact an Arkansas Solar dealer. He
will be able to do a Site Shading
Survey, and plot the suns path. A solar
electric dealer will have the survey tools
to plot a year round sun path at any
time of the year. You need to know if
you are in a good location and the
survey is a requirement in some states
to collect incentives. Your dealer also
should have the weather temperature
data for your location by zip code and
will be able to size the array for the
inverter. It is a must to know how many sun hours your location will provide along with the
weather trends to know the systems yearly output.
Before calling your dealer, Follow these information links to get ahead on sizing your Solar
electric system. Check pricing on kit systems so you already know about what you can get
for your money.
Remember to ask your dealer if there are any tax credits or incentives and how they apply. If
there are any state or local incentives, your Arkansas Solar Dealer will be the person to ask.
If you need financing, your dealer should have details or a Solar Financial Package to cover
your needs.
